Thursday Notes

If you haven’t been there already, check out our podcasts. They’re available by clicking here, and we put a new one up today. I sat down with BlueClaws Assistant GM Rich Mozingo, who gave us a preview of the upcoming Winter Meetings, which take place next week in Las Vegas. Blog contributor Zack Rosenberg will be with us daily to help capture the Winter Meetings experience.

Just confirmed an interview with Todd Zolecki of the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the excellent Phillies Zone Blog. He’ll chat with us Friday afternoon. And Julian Sampson, who went 11-4 for Lakewood in 2008, will join us on Wednesday. Any questions, ggiombarrese@blueclaws.com. Thanks to those who particpated in the Q&A with Mike Zagurski, and we’re looking forward to getting more blog readers involved as we build this thing up.

Lou Marson and Carlos Carrasco, both on the BlueClaws 2006 SAL Championship team, were placed by a panel of scouts surveyed by MLB.com in a list of the top 50 prospects in all of baseball.

Very important: If you live in the area and can make it to FirstEnergy Park next Saturday (December 13th), come on by for our annual “Breakfast with Buster” food and toy drive. Bring an unwrapped toy or non-perishable food for the Salvation Army of Ocean County. We’ll be here from 9-11 a.m.
