Championship Series Rotation
Dusty Wathan checks in with the following rotation for the SAL Championship Series, which begins Monday in Lakewood…
- Game One: LHP Matthew Way (4-1, 3.11)…7 IP, 1 R in game one vs Kannapolis
- Game Two: RHP Jesus Sanchez (10-6, 3.44), would have pitched game three vs Kannapolis
- Game Three: RHP Trevor May (4-1, 2.56), 6 shutout in game two vs Kannapolis
- Game Four: LHP Korey Noles (1-1, 1.17 w/ LAK, 2-1, 2.22 w/ WPT)
- Game Five: LHP Matthew Way (4-1, 3.11)
Analysis: What we would have done. The only other option was Sanchez in games one and five and Way in game two. But Way has just been way too good not to throw in games one and five.
Lakewood caught a break when Greenville got rained out on Wednesday, meaning they played game one of their series with Asheville on Thursday. Significance of that, their game one starter, Stolmy Pimentel, couldn’t come back in game one of the finals (three days rest). RHP Brock Huntzinger (10-9, 4.09)will throw for Greenville in game one (rest of rotation TBD).
