- Upcoming playoffs: “For some of us, it’s the first chance to be on a team that can win a ring. It’s very exciting.”
- Feel fresh? “I feel normal. I don’t feel tired. I don’t want to say ‘fresh,’ since I don’t feel as well as I felt at the beginning of the year but I definately don’t feel tired.”
- Stolen base resurgence: “I’ve seen a lot of these pitchers, so I know what I can do with who is pitching…I’ve made better reads, but pitchers are getting tired…end of the year, they want to get in and get out, and I think that’s helped a little bit too.”
- On Kannapolis: “They probably have the best bullpen in the league that we’ve seen. They come out to play every day…They have a lot of fun, swing the bat, and hit the fastball. If we put up more runs that we’ve been putting up, we’ll be pretty good.”
- Leading off vs hitting 2nd: “I like hitting 2nd…It gives me a chance to get some more fastballs with Garcia on base and I get the chance to drive in some runs.”
- Moving forward: “The game never chances, people get better, but the game doesn’t change.”
- Needs to improve: “Working better counts…I’ve always been about swinging at the pitch I want to hit. But that can cost you at bats too.”
