ClawCast with BJ Rosenberg

Caught up with BlueClaws closer BJ Rosenberg for a ClawCast interview last week. Here are some highlights…

On transitioning to the bullpen in college…I’d hit the 3rd or 4th inning as a starter and my stuff wasn’t as good, and they thought I might give it a shot at closing. I’m still doing it now, and my arm’s been feeling great…When I came back [from surgery] I was throwing a bit harder, but I gained some mph and throwing one inning, it really helped my off-speed stuff too.

On winning games in the first half…You play a game for more than just the game. After a win, you go on the internet and see how Delmarva or Greensboro or Kannapolis did. It was a lot of fun being in that kind of race.

Working with Bob Milacki…We’ve developed a new slider that’s working well. He sees a lot of things in the game that I’m doing wrong and helps me a whole lot.

Ready to Move Up… I always feel like I’m ready but I kind of go day by day. I have no control over that and whatever happens, happens.
