Walk-a-thon…Haley has walked a cool 50 hitters this year in his 54 innings, including 18 in his last three starts (13 innings pitched).
New Look…no Travis d’Arnaud or Jim Murphy today for Lakewood…Jeremy Hamilton bats 3rd then Vladimir de los Santos, Travis Mattair, Brendan Akashian and Korby Mintken.
9:03: Lakewood is just 9-11 in day games this year, 53-33 at night. We’ll see what holds.
11:23: Two runs on three hits for Correa who had to deal w/ 2nd and 3rd none out…28 pitches and a 2-0 LCO lead.
11:36: Much better second inning, where Correa allowed a two-out hit but was otherwise sharp…Haley had a 1-2-3 first.
12:07: Both pitchers have settled in, Correa especially, back to back 1-2-3 innings…Haley hasn’t allowed a hit through three.
12:15: Seven in a row retired by Haley…0 hits and a walk allowed through 4.
12:54: The BlueClaws got their breakthrough on a double by Travis Mattair and scored two in the fifth, helped out by a LKO error…knotted at 2 as we go to the top of the seventh.
1:18: Wonderful opportunity wasted…2nd and 3rd / 1 out after a Gose butcherball bunt…Hanzawa on a groundout and Hamilton strikes out swinging to end the inning. 2-2 to the 8th.
1:43: BJ throws the 9th…2-2 to the bottom half.
1:54: d’Arnaud coming out to pinch hit…1st and 3rd / 2 outs in the 9th.
2:06: Travis walked and de los Santos struck out to end the inning…2-2 bottom 10.
2:19: Onto the 11th.
2:33: Roth allows a run on a wild pitch…3-2 Lake County to the home 11th.
3:05: Final 3-2…Lakewood 1-11 RISP and 2-27 over the last two days.
