The Arms…De Fratus has a 2.93 ERA over his last four starts after an 11.15 ERA over his first four. He moved to the rotation at the break…Smith makes his second start with Charleston (he threw 5 shutout in his first)…He missed all of last year and in 2007, was 7-4, 2.97 with Double-A Trenton.

Way Day…LHP Matt Way on the pre-game show tonight.

4:57: It’s turned into a beautiful day…off to do the weekly segment on Fox Sports 1310.

6:58: Beautiful night…much better than the forecast indicated it was going to be. Rest below.

7:00: Garcia on 3rd, tagged out trying to score on a wild pitch…not  a bad agressive play w/ 2 outs, almost made it.

7:25: 1-0 Charleston…they get a run on three hits, and make two outs on the bases…terrible baserunning, Lakewood got a little lucky there.

7:44: 1st/3rd 2 out and JDF induces 5-4-3…huge. 1-0 to the 3rd.

8:01: JDF strikes out two looking in the 3rd on backdoor breaking balls.

8:10: Lakewood has had runners in every inning but nothing to show for it yet.

8:18: 7 in a row for JDF. Still 1-0.

8:29: 1-1 on a Garcia RBI single…d’Arnaud flies out to the wall in left w/ runners on corners to end inning.

8:56: d’Arnaud has a hose…guns down Almonte (was 27-30 on steals)…1-1 to the 7th. Lakewood 1-8 RISP, they had 1st/2nd none out in the 6th and failed to score.

9:15: De Fratus through the 7th…1-1, a run on 5 hits…1-1 to the 8th.

9:41: Top 9, Gose strikes out w/ Warren at 2nd and 2 outs…1-1 bottom 9…Ellis stays in for a second inning.

9:54: Tough one…Ellis gives up a run in the 9th…bases loaded grounder to 2nd…guy beats Garcia’s throw at home…2-1 final.
