Welcome back to LP Frans Stadium here in Hickory, NC on another beautiful evening for baseball. The BlueClaws will look to pick up where they left off yesterday and get back to five-games over .500 after their 6-4 win behind Jon Velasquez last night.

Close Calls–The BlueClaws have played a whopping 15 games already decided by three runs or less. They are 9-6 in such games. Hickory meanwhile is just 3-9 in these games.

Hot Hitters–Harold Garcia has hit safely in eight straight (11-32) and Jesus Villegas in five straight (9-19). Garcia is in the lineup tonight. Villegas is not.

8:42: Esmelvin Jimenez takes the honor of being the first BlueClaw ejected from a game this year…Thrown out by Joel Myers for firing a fastball over the head of Mike Bianucci, who is 5-7 in the series with a home run and four runs scored. Santo Hernandez in.

9:01: Lakewood gets one on a SAC fly from Gose, just miss 2 on a d’Arnaud fly out to the LF wall.
