Game 67: Captains (30-35) vs. BlueClaws (41-25)
After winning in ten innings last night, the BlueClaws will play two games today as part of a split doubleheader. Game two will begin at 7:05.

LCO – RHP Alexander Perez (5-2, 2.88)
First-Half Champions: By virtue of their 8-3 victory on Thursday night, the Lakewood BlueClaws at 40-25 have guaranteed themselves the best record in the first half of the season. With that, the BlueClaws have locked up their second playoff spot in team history, first was the 2006 SAL Champions.
Let’s Play Two: The BlueClaws will play two seven-inning games today as part of a split doubleheader. Game two will feature Trevor May (0-0) in his second start of the season and lefty TJ McFarland (5-2)

3:10: Underway…Cloyd allows two hits, one of the infield variety, in the first, but no runs…onto the bottom of the first.
3:33: Cloyd walks the bases loaded w/ 2 outs in the first, but induces a groundout to end it…0-0 to the home 2nd.
3:39: Moooooose…his 2nd HR of the year…1-0 Lakewood.
3:53: RBI single for Donnine Webb ties the game, 1-1, could have been worse if not for a nice sliding catch in RF by Collier…four walks already for Cloyd, a season-high.
4:07: Perez: 4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 6 K…looks like a legit prospect…Perez is an SAL All-Star this year, along with his counterpart today, Tyler Cloyd.
4:29: Travis Mattair grabs another hit, steals a bag, for the first time not on a delayed steal and then scores on a single by Zach Collier, 2-1 BlueClaws…However, Cloyd allows a leadoff triple to the Donnie Webb in the sixth…
4:47: 2-2 to the 7th…BJR coming in…Cloyd allows 2 over six, no-decision.
5:02: Extras…2-2 to the 8th.
5:16: LCO threatens but doesn’t score in the 8th…2-2 to the bottom half…BJ strikes out Valadez w/ the bases loaded to end the inning…LCO has left 13 on base so far.
5:30: onto the 9th…Bergh in relief of Rosenberg.
5:51: bottom of 10…Lakewood has Mattair leading off in a 2-2 game…that’s 16 LOB for Lake County.
6:08: Rain delay, just as we were about to start the bottom of the 11th inning of game one. Still 2-2.
6:43: Back underway…bottom 11…2-2
6:58: Rain delay again…heading to the 12th…monsoon conditions here. Legitimate monsoon.
7:47: The game has been suspended…The field simply is not playable…Play will resume tomorrow at noon, in the 12th inning, tied at two. Then, the Captains and BlueClaws will play the game scheduled for 1:05 pm immediately following the completion of the suspended game.
