Welcome back to McCormick Field here in Asheville for tonight’s game between the BlueClaws and Tourists. Lakewood has taken the first two games of the series including a 6-4 win last night…Game notes hereAudio here (at 6:50).

Sanchez’s Renaissance…First, here’s a ClawCast interview we did with Sanchez for today’s pre-game show…The right-hander is 5-1 since June 12th with a 2.01 ERA….He’s stopped walking hitters (12 in 60 innings) after walking 15 in his first 23.

d’Arnaud How to Hit…Hitting streak is up to 14 for Travis d’Arnaud, who went 2-4 last night and is 4-7 in the series. He is 24-61 over the stretch.

Gose Close…With 54 steals, Anthony Gose trails Quintin Berry by one for third on the BlueClaws all-time SB list…He is four back of Michael Bourn and five behind Chris Roberson for the team record, which should fall soon.

4:35: Weather is perfect…80 degrees, clear skies. Can’t beat that. Back later.

7:15: 1-0, d’Arnaud hits in 15 straight with a double off the RF wall, scoring Harold Garcia (1b and 30th sb).

7:31: D’Arby Myers now w/ 8 hits in his last 3 games plus 1 at-bat…RBI triple makes it 2-0 Lakewood in the 2nd inning.

7:54: Sanchez induces a DP grounder to get through the 3rd…still 2-0 Lakewood.

8:11: Myers is on fire…another double…Lafrenz a SAC fly for his first LAK RBI and a two-run single by Gose, who stole 2nd and 3rd (56 on the year)…5-0 Lakewood.

8:20: 4 scoreless, 2 hits, 4 Ks for Sanchez so far.

8:34: Through 5 and now 5-1…Unearned ASH run as Mattiar makes a 2-out error…Sanchez with 6 Ks and 3 hits allowed thus far.

8:45: Garcia an RBI double to chase out Frazier…6-1 Lakewood bottom of 6…12 hits for the BlueClaws in this game and now 37 in the first 2 games plus six innings in this series.

9:00: 8-1 after back-to-back SAC flies by Mattair and Hanzawa…Sanchez still out there for the 7th.

9:15: Sanchez out…7 IP, 4 H, 1 unearned run, 1 BB, 8 Ks…McConnell in. 8-1 bottom 8.

9:51: 8-1 final…McConnell and Ellis got the last 6 outs…3 wins in a row for Lakewood, 20 over for the first time this year.
