We goofed pretty bad here at BlueClaws Blog. We kept something of a live blog for the last two days of baseball at FirstEnergy Park and naturally forgot to post them. If you want to read them, game three is here, and four is below. Oops.
Welcome back to FirstEnergy Park for game three of the 2009 season, and game three of the opening series between Lakewood and Delmarva. Rob Roth starts for Lakewood today, a right-hander from Idaho, against Birds righty Ryan O’Shea.

3:34: The tarp has been on the field since last night. They just dumped all the water in left field and the tarp is back on the field as we await play. The radar says that once the rain stops, it’s done for good, so we shouldn’t be too far off from baseball.

4:02: Tarp still on the field, but rain is stopping…baseball soon.

4:10: They are taking the tarp off the field.

4:26: The tarp is being rolled off. They tell us 5:00 for the first pitch.

5:09: Underway…leadoff double for Xavier Avery of Delmarva.

5:18: Strike ‘em out / throw ‘em out d’Arnaud to Mattair to end the top of the first.

5:19: Anyone with tickets to today’s game can exchange them for any game in April.

5:41: Each team has left a runner in scoring position…’Claws go down 1-2-3 in the 2nd…0-0 heading to the 3rd.

6:04: Roth is dealing…great mix of pitches and keeping everyone off-balance. 0-0 top of 4.

6:14: d’Arnaud RBI single gives Lakewood first lead of the season, 1-0 bottom 4.

6:56: Delmarva tied it in the top of the 5th…Roth out after 5…Santos Hernandez now in.

7:04: 2 out rally for Lakewood…1st and 3rd with 2 outs for Hamilton after Valle reaches on K/pb and Hanzawa singles him to third.

7:07: Hamilton strikes out…1-1 to the 7th.

7:14: Hernandez walks leadoff batter…gets through 7th…1-1 at the stretch.

7:11: ‘Claws take lead 2-1 on RBI double by Anthony Gose. Bergh in for 8th.

7:57: Down to their final strike, LJ Hoes of Delmarva gets an RBI double…tie game…

8:08: Extras…

8:22: To the 11th…Velasquez now in for Lakewood.

8:43: BLUECLAWS WIN!!! RBI single by D’Arby Myers in the 11th…3-2 final.
