Look Who’s Hitting Now
Jason Donald (BlueClaws 2007) went 3-4 yesterday and is now hitting .320 in spring training, not including a home run against Team USA. He’s 8-25 in nine games and 6 for his last 10.
“He’s swinging good, very good,” Charlie Manuel said of Donald. “He’s been doing a good job. He’s been playing very well defensively and the last two to three days he’s been swinging the bat better.”
“I think subconsciously, I really was trying too hard,” Donald said. “It was in the back of my mind that I felt like I need to produce here, I need to have a positive at-bat, instead of letting the game come to me. Charlie and [hitting coach] Milt [Thompson] talked to me a little bit. It’’s easier said than done, but trust in your abilities at the plate and trust in your approach.”
