Minor League Spring Training Update
The minor leaguers started their spring camp yesterday. Here’s an update…
First, from the games on Wednesday:

Carlos Monasterios (07) threw three shutout innings with six Ks in the Hi-A game
-
Michael Durant (08) homered in the Hi-A game
-
Zach Collier, #8 in Baseball America’s rankings, stole a base and started in RF in the Hi-A game. He could be in Lakewood
-
Freddy Ballestas allowed three runs in three innings in the Lo-A game
-
First-round pick Anthony Hewitt went 0-4 with 3 strikeouts in the Lo-A game
-
Arlon Quiroz, who did not homer for Williamsport last year, homered in the Lo-A game
And from Thursday’s action:

Tyson Brummett allowed four runs (one earned) in three innings with the Double-A team

Chance Chapman gave up two runs in two innings in the same game
-
Troy Hanzawa & Cody Overbeck, the left side of the Williamsport infield last year, both played in the Double-A game, going 3-8 between them (Overbeck 2-4)

Derek Mitchell (08) homered in the Hi-A game
-
Robert Roth started the Lo-A game and threw three shutout innings

Anthony Gose went 1-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Lo-A squad

Arlon Quiroz homered twice with the Lo-A team, giving him three in the first two days of spring games
