Not Meant to Be
On the bright side, about 14 weeks until pitchers and catchers. But on the downside, it just wasn’t meant to be for the Phillies this week, as their season came to an end with a 7-3 loss to the Yankees in game six last night at Yankee Stadium.
Looking to become just the third NL team to repeat as champs and the first since the 1976 Reds, the Phillies hit .227 in the six game series and lost to a team that went 101-48 since mid-May.
“Are they better than we are? For this series they were,” said Charlie Manuel. “They have the trophy and we don’t. We gave it up, but we’re going to get it back.”

From the BlueClaws standpoint, we’re proud to be an affiliate of such a top class organization like the Phillies, and that runs from the top all the way down. The big club just missed two in a row this time. But as Manuel said, “We’ll be back.”
