• The BlueClaws have now had a winning record in eight straight halves (dating to the first half of the 2006 championship season)
• No team stole more bases this year (210) than the Lakewood BlueClaws. That’s of 120 full-season Minor League Baseball teams

Some quotes of note:

• Dusty Wathan on Travis d’Arnaud (who hit .302 in the second half)…He’s driving balls the other way and thinking double instead of home run. He just needs to stay within himself, and when he does, he’ll have a lot of success.
• Game One Starter Matthew Way…I wanted to establish myself as one of the better starters here, and being named the game one starter was one of the goals I set for myself and one of the things I wanted to do when I got here.

On the series with Kannapolis (6-6)

• Tonight’s starter for KAN, Charlie Leesman, took a perfect game to two outs in the eighth in May against Lakewood, his lone start against the BlueClaws this season.
• Anthony Gose is 5-35 against Kannapolis this year.
• KAN 2B Drew Garcia is 17-51 with a home run off Lakewood.
