Rosenberg’s First Save…
…With the Reading Phillies, happened last night in a 6-5 win. With the score at 6-5, Rosenberg was brought into the ballgame in favor of Sergio Escalona who had gone 1.2 innings and had allowed two unearned runs. There was a runner on first and two outs as Rosenberg first allowed a single before coaxing a groundball to second base to end the ballgame and pick up his first save as a member of the R-Phils.
The save was the 21st of the season for Rosenberg as he had 20 for the BlueClaws this season. He went .1 innings, lengething his streak, albeit not by much, to 31 full innings without allowing an earned run. It’s 30 innings since he has allowed even an unearned run. Also in the ballgame, fellow 2009 Claws coach Tim Gradoville caught Rosenberg in the ninth, and outfielder Steve Susdorf went 1-for-4.
