Here are two nuggets from Baseball America regarding some former BlueClaws players…

First up, Baseball America put out their mid-season All-Star and All-Surprise teams, and, to no one’s surprise, Michael Taylor is mentioned.

Three years ago, scouts liked to criticize Taylor as just another Stanford hitter with an inside-out swing. Now he’s a masher with surprising speed and star potential.

Also, in this ESPN.com prospect chat, BA’s Jim Callis was asked “Carrasco or Drabek? Who would you rather have in your starting rotation?” His answer:

Drabek. He’s not ready yet but in the long run I’d much prefer him to Carrasco.
