Williamsport Crosscutters Announce Roster
The Single-A short season affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Williamsport Crosscutters, have announced their opening day roster which will take the field in their first game on June 19th.
Of the current 25-man roster, ten players played for the Crosscutters last season, and BlueClaws manager Dusty Wathan was the manager for the team last season. A number of players throughout the year will play for the Crosscutters and then for the BlueClaws this season.
Of the current roster, Leandro Castro and Esmelvin Jiminez played for the BlueClaws this season and TJ Warren played for the BlueClaws in 2008. The headliner of the roster is the Phillies 2008 first pick Anthony Hewitt (24th overall). He is a higher draft selection than anyone on the Lakewood BlueClaws. The Phillies have sent 11 of their 2009 draft picks to play at Williamsport.
