th=”200″ height=”200″ />Four former BlueClaws will play in the 2010 Florida State League All-Star Game on June 12th in Viera, Florida, all of whom were with Lakewood in their championship season of 2009.
RHP Austin Hyatt (6-3, 4.58) was Lakewood’s 8th inning guy in the playoffs last season and did not allow a run. Hyatt was 6-1, 1.90, but has allowed 18 runs in his last 10.1 innings.
RHP Trevor May (3-4, 5.26) was a key starter for the BlueClaws last year, when he had a sub-3 ERA and was the starter in two playoff wins. He was 3-2, 3.90 but has allowed nine ER in his last seven innings.
RHP Justin De Fratus (1-0, 8 saves, 1.64) was a swing guy for Lakewood, serving as an All-Star reliever in the first half and as a starter in the second half. De Fratus has adopted well to the closer role this year for the Threshers, and is fifth in the league in saves.
C Travis d’Arnaud (.311-4-18-pictured) was Lakewood’s catcher last year when he hit 13 home runs and .312 in the second half. This year, he’s playing with Dunedin after going to the Blue Jays in the Roy Halladay trade. d’Arnaud missed three weeks win an injury earlier and returned to play on May 19th.
3B Cody Overbeck (.330-11-38) leads the league in home runs and RBIs playing for Clearwater. Overbeck, however, is not a former BlueClaw as the Ole Miss product skipped Lakewood in 2009 and is playing his second straight year for the Threshers. If you’re wondering, he’s 8th in the league in batting average, 34 points behind Alden Carrithers of Lakeland (Tigers).
2010 South Atlantic All-Stars will be announced at the end of next week.
