Throw-Back-The-Clock Night…Tonight’s pitching match-up of Brody Colvin and Edgar Olmos was the match-up on April 16th, Lakewood’s home opener…Greensboro won the game 3-2, with Colvin allowing three runs in five innings to take the loss…Olmos gave up two runs in five innings to earn the win.

Hoppers Last Stand…Greensboro enters this four-game series tied for third place with West Virginia, six games behind first place Lakewood and 2.5 games behind second place Hickory…If the BlueClaws win the second half, having already won the first, their playoff opponent would be the team with the next best record, likely Hickory (10.5 games ahead of 3rd place overall)…Greensboro is 5-9 over their last 14 games and has lost five of their last seven.

The Killer B’s…Stephen Batts has eight multi-hit games in his last 11 games, an 12-game hitting streak, and is 29-74 over his last 17 games…Jeremy Barnes has hit safely in his last nine games and is 15-32 over the stretch.

Streaking…Michael Dabbs has hit safely in 10 straight games (and has hit in 19 of the 21 games he has played with Lakewood…Stephen Batts (22-52) has hit safely in 12 straight games and Jeremy Barnes (15-32) has hit safely in nine straight games.

Towards the Record Books… Jiwan James needs 18 more runs to tie Michael Bourn’s team record of 92 set in 2004…He also needs 16 hits to tie Quintin Berry, who had 152 in 2007…Sebastian Valle, with 15 home runs, needs seven more over the last 23 to tie Juan Richardson’s team record of 22 set in 2001.

Home Runs on the Road…The BlueClaws have hit 73 home runs this year, but 52 have come on the road against just 21 at home…In total, there have been 90 home runs hit between the two teams in Lakewood’s 62 road games…In 58 games at FirstEnergy Park, the teams have combined to hit just 45 home runs.

7:16: Colvin gets a big 6-4-3 DP w/ runners on the corners to end the first.

7:51: 2 run single by Castro makes it 2-1 Lakewood. Olmos has walked four and hit one through two innings.

8:26: Still 2-1 but Colvin got knocked out…took a bouncer back off his thigh in the 3rd. Massingham now in.

8:57: A two run single by Chad Cregar makes it 3-2 Greensboro to the 7th inning.

9:52: Bonus baseball…Michael Dabbs ties the game with an RBI double in the 9th…3-3 to the 10th

10:46: Final was 4-3 Greensboro…Brody Colvin, hit by a grounder in the 2nd, is reported to be fine.
