The BlueClaws are still four games out of first place, now with 12 games remaining in the season, and still with three teams to pass. Lakewood still has five games with Hickory (2nd place, one game up on Lakewood) and five with Hagerstown (tied with Lakewood for third place).
Despite back to back wins the last two nights at Delmarva, the BlueClaws remain four games out of first place, trailing Kannapolis, who has picked up back to back wins over Augusta.
On Monday, Brett Bochy (son of Bruce) blew a save in the 9th. Augusta had the bases loaded in the 10th but failed to score and Trayce Thompson hit a home run in the 12th.
On Tuesday, Augusta came from 4-0 down and tied the game with a run in the 8th. In the ninth, they couldn’t get the winning run in from second base with one out, and lost in the 11th.
So the BlueClaws remain four games out. Note: Kanny still has to play a double-header against Rome on August 28th so they and the BlueClaws will not play the same amount of games. This is good for Lakewood, who can’t break a tie with the Intimidators after going 4-6 against them this year.
