Lakewood left-handed pitcher Lino Martinez was named Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week, the Phillies announced on Monday.

Martinez, a 19-year old left-hander from Zulia, Venezuela, threw seven shutout innings in a 1-0 win over Greesnboro on Thursday night at FirstEnergy Park, though he did not factor in the decision. He became the first BlueClaws pitcher to throw seven innings in a game this year. He is the youngest player on the BlueClaws roster.

The minor league hitter of the week is Cody Asche, a 4th round pick last year from Nebraska who went 11-25 with Clearwater. He’s hitting .364 on the season. Asche skipped Lakewood, going straight from Williamsport to Clearwater.

Reading Phillies, Eastern League Eastern Division

SS Troy Hanzawa, hit .421 in 6 games with a club-high 8 hits; ended the week on a 14-game hitting streak (.396), boosting his average from .278 to .324; hitting .378 this month . . . 1B Darin Ruf, .318 in 6 games with 3 doubles, 3 homers among his 7 hits; drove in an organization-high 12 runs.  Homered in 4 consecutive games starting on May 6; had an 8-game streak end on May 10, 15 hits, 16 RBI;  leads EL in hitting (.383), hits (49) and RBI (27) . . . RHS Julio Rodriguez (3-0), 1-0 for 2 starts, 1 run in 11 innings, but 9 walks against 8 strikeouts . . . RHS Jonathan Pettibone (2-3), 1-0 for 1 start, allowing a solo homer with two out in the top of the ninth to lose a shutout on Wednesday . . . RHS Drew Naylor (2-0) allowed 1 earned run in 5 innings in winning on Thursday . . . LHP Austin Wright (5-0) won 1 of 2 starts, but gave up 10 runs in 10.1 total innings with 9 strikeouts and 7 walks . . . LHS Adam Morgan (1-3) won his first game on Wednesday, 2 runs, 10 strikeouts in 7 innings . . . No decision for LHS Jesse Biddle on Friday, 1 unearned run, 4 hits (2 bunt base hits) in 6.2 innings with 4 walks, 8 strikeouts . . . RHR Tyler Knigge had 2 scoreless appearances; in 13 outings this season, he’s given up runs once (2 on 4/27); for May, 0 runs, 4 hits, 10 strikeouts, 9 games . . . Lakewood BlueClaws, South Atlantic League North Division

2-4, 6^th place . . . Monday and Tuesday losses ended a road trip; BlueClaws are 3-13 on the road . . . Returned home and won, 1-0, on Thursday, the game started by Lino Martinez.  Win went to RHR Matt Campbell, 2 perfect innings; picked up 2^nd save 2 days later . . . 3B Maikel Franco had a walk-off RBI double in the 1-0 win. . . He and OF Aaron Altherr have 16 RBI each, second to RF Brain Pointer (19) for the club lead . . . C-1B Bob Stumpo, between Clearwater and Lakewood, has hit safely in 10 of 15 games; he has multiple hits in 8 of those games and single hits in only 2.
