Manzanillo Takes Hill For Claws Tonight

Ervis Manzanillo, who pitched for the BlueClaws in 2011, makes the start today in game two of the season after Greenville topped Lakewood 4-2 on Opening Day last night.

Here are today’s game notes.

Kelly’s Korner…Kelly Dugan picked up the first BlueClaws home run of the season with a sixth inning solo blast on Thursday, the 4th home run of his career…It was just the second BlueClaws Opening Day home run (Darin Ruf, 2010) in the team’s last six season openers…Dugan’s two hits marked his first multi-hit game as a BlueClaw…He had 10 last year in 47 games with Williamsport.

First of Many…After starting 0-3, Gauntlett Eldemire smacked an RBI double in his 4th at bat on Thursday, picking up his first professional hit and first professional RBI, driving in Tyler Greene…Eldemire was a 6th round pick in 2010 from Ohio University but did not play in 2010 or 2011 with the Phillies because of a left wrist injury.
