Two Players Added As Claws Return Home

The BlueClaws have made two roster moves as they return home to open a four-game series with Savannah (Mets) tonight at FirstEnergy Park.

Transactions…The BlueClaws have made two roster moves for today’s game…OF Larry Greene, Jr. (from extended spring training) and IF Alejandro Villalobos (from disabled list in Clearwater) join the BlueClaws today with OF Yan Olmo (6-27, 2 RBIs) and IF Tyler Greene (1-10, no relation) sent to extended spring training.

The New BlueClaws…Greene was the Phillies first pick in the 2011 draft (supplemental first round pick, 39th overall) from Nashville, Georgia…He spent last year with Williamsport in the NY-Penn League where he hit .270 with 2 HRs and 26 RBIs in 70 games and hit .338 after the All-Star break (26-77)…Villalobos, from Maracaibo, Venezuela, spent much of last season with the BlueClaws, hitting .279 with a home run and 21 RBIs in 66 games, and had two separate 10-game hitting streaks…He spent 2011 with the GCL Phillies.

Meet The Mets…Savannah (Mets) comes to Lakewood to start a four-game series beginning tonight…These are the only four meetings of the season between the two teams…Last year, they played eight times, with the SandGnats taking three of four at Grayson Stadium and the teams splitting four games at FirstEnergy Park.

Today’s Starter…RHP Miguel Nunez (0-0, 3.24) makes his first start of the year after making two appearances out of the BlueClaws bullpen…He gave up one earned run/three total in 3.1 innings against Hagerstown on 4/8 and two runs in 4.2 innings at Greensboro on 4/13…Nunez has not pitched since 2010, missing each of the last two seasons with elbow injuries…Nunez won’t turn 21 until October and is from La Romana, Dominican Republic.
