With my dad as co-pilot, I made stops in Niceville, Florida for a night, had lunch in New Orleans at the ACME Oyster House, and then stopped for a night in Houston. I then drove him to San Antonio, where we had awesome Mexican food at the Riverwalk, and then dropped him off at the airport in town. From there, I drove to the middle of nowhere near Van Horn, Texas, and spent the night, leaving myself only 8 ½ hours for my final day of travel. No speeding tickets, no accidents, no close encounters, thankfully – but I did go through lots and lots of gas. But it is invaluable to have a car here in Arizona, so I made the trek.

The rosters for the prestigious Arizona Fall League were announced today and feature several BlueClaws (including two current ‘Claws). All will represent the Mesa Solar Sox.

That’s it, another season in the books down in the Arizona Fall League, and a relatively productive one for the former BlueClaws that took part. Here’s how they did (parentheses refers to year with Lakewood)…First the hitters…
Big day for three Phillies prospects, and two former BlueClaws as Quintin Berry (2007), Jesus Sanchez (08-09) and Yohan Flande were added to the Phillies 40-man roster. The move protects all three from being chosen in next month’s Rule Five Draft, held at the Winter Meetings, plus these guys will almost certainly get to go to big league spring training for at least a little bit.
The Arizona Fall League takes a day off and has their Rising Stars Game on Saturday. 2008 BlueClaws OF and top Phillies prospect Domonic Brown will take part in the game, the only Phillies player selected to participate.
