Facebook: Be a FAN

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Changed it up a little on Facebook…we had (and still have for now) a page where you would be the BlueClaws friend. But we’re switching it up…I created a new Fan Page this morning, so if you wouldn’t mind, head over and be a fan of the Lakewood BlueClaws (click here).

Thanks.

The Phillies Armadillo

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

philliesarmadilloJimmy Rollins after the game yesterday:

“How hard is it to kill this team? Hopefully it’s like trying to run over an armadillo. Just roll up and put our shells on. And after the car goes over us, we unfold and walk away.”

Look who we found…

Funny Tweet from Bill Simmons, ESPN’s The Sports Guy, a did-hard Boston sports fan:  Would I give up a Pats Super Bowl this season to see the Yanks choke away the ’09 World Series? (Thinking) Yes. Yes I would.

BruceClaws Wrap-Up

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

First off, thanks to everyone who enjoyed Bruce Springsteen Night on Saturday. We raised over $3200 for the Danny Federici Memorial Foundation through the BruceClaws jersey auction (Jason Knapp, Jim Murphy, and Travis Mattair’s jerseys led the way). Some photos are up at the BlueClaws Facebook page.

Twitter Giveaway from Last Week

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

One more reason to follow us on Twitter…last week we had a special contest when the BlueClaws were in Kannapolis. We asked people to guess the number of baseballs that would be used in the top half of the first inning, and closest, without going over (Price Is Right scoring) would win four tickets to Sunday’s BlueClaws game. So congrats to our two winners, Jim and Jake.

As a quick note, Sunday’s 5:05 game is the annual BlueClaws autograph session. The gates will open at 3:45, or 15 minutes earlier than they normally would. The autograph session will take place on the field from 3:45 to 4:30 pm that day.

Also, don’t forget to follow the BlueClaws on Twitter and our friend Buster on Twitter as well.

Tweeting Tyler

Friday, June 5th, 2009

As noted here and on our Twitter page yesterday, BlueClaws pitcher Tyler Cloyd tweeted last night’s game from the dugout. Some highlights…

well going into the top of the 2nd.. tied at 0. knapp retires the side in order. and grado outs a shout out to his wife. (That should make Tim Gradoville happy)

shoebirds get one in the bottom of the 3rd. knapp struggles a little bit but he will come back. the donkey just needs to settle down. (He called Jason Knapp “The Donkey”)

have a feeling the blueclaws are going to go off in this inn for at least two. tune in for the results (This did not pan out as predicted)

There will be more in-game Tweeting, and thanks Tyler!

Look Who’s Tweeting Now

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

He doesn’t talk, but now he can Tweet…As announced for the first time earlier this afternoon in the BlueClaws weekly e-newsletter, mascot and the team’s biggest fan Buster is now on Twitter. You can follow him here.

Buster will be Tweeting about his favorite team, share pictures of himself and fans, let you know where he will be throughout the community, and much more. Be sure to give a follow and check back frequently.

There you have it. Buster is on Twitter. Never thought I’d say that.
